I should clarify .. this message is received from a CommuniGate server. The
CommuniGate server is checking that the sender's account actually exists. Other
MTAs are fine with it but CommuniGate is NOT. How can I stop this from happening?

Thanks,

I see it all the time from spam. They put in a bad ***@yourdomain.com
in ther From field and your server sezs, 'I know about yourdomain.com
and there is no ***@yourdomain.com, so it can not be a valid email' and
rejects it.

How is it aliased? Did you place the alias name within the settings
for the e-mail account?

Go test the alias under Settings->Router at the bottom to see if CGP
is properly routing or if there is an error. CGP might not be routing
the alias properly, thus, giving you the results you are seeing.

It is an alias on PostFix MTA. It is an alias and no other MTA has problem with
it except CommuniGate. Is it possible to disable it?

Thanks,

The parameter to MAIL FROM command is the return-path address. If the
domain part of that address matches (routes to) any local CGPro domain,
by default CGPro requires that the local part of that address routes to
some account.

If, for example, this particular account name is hosted on another
server, the proper solution is to add that name as a forwarder pointing
to that other server:

missing -> real_account%***@external.server

No offense, but that is insane. So, you are telling me that creating a forwarder
for all the aliases on the other domain mail server remedies my issue?

Please tell me we can disable this feature ...

I guess you could just turn off "Verify Return Path" in CGP. I could be
wrong though.

However, i think you are being unfair by accusing CGP of being evil just
because you decided to prefix it with a Postfix server which has aliases CGP
doesn't know about. If that is even your setup which you haven't bothered to
describe in detail yet.

I guess it would realy help if you describe your setup e.g. if you are using
a Postfix as your border server and pass on incoming mail to CGP where it is
actualy being accessed via IMAP, POP or such. I assume no one realy could
understand yet where the root of your problem lies.

Long story short:

Is the PostFix server configured with the same domainname than the CGp
Server? Are both servers on your network or is the PostFix server from
someone else?

With all respect - from your original message it's not clear that the
domain hosted on the CGPro server is shared with some other server. For
just few such accounts (in the same domain but hosted on another server)
this is quite a sane approach.
